Welcome to the World Medical Football Championship podcast. Today’s guest is Dublin based GP,  Dr Andrew Delany, who has a special interest in sports medicine and is also team doctor with the FAI. He also happens to be the team captain of the Irish side that won the World Medical Football Championship in Vienna, Austria last year.

During this conversation, Dr Andrew Delany brings us on an exciting journey as he recounts the Irish victory with tales of penalty shootouts, complicated excel sheets, tough tackling South American doctors, and last minute decisions to abandon flights. We also chat about recent developments in sports medicine, the positive role exercise can play in both doctors’ and patients’ lives, and the challenges and fun of being a team doctor at the FAI.
