St Vincent’s sign-off in style as champions

By Mindo - 20th Jun 2018

This season’s achievement is the result of a huge squad effort. End-of-season awards, voted on by all team members, recognise those who made special contributions over the course of the campaign:

Player of the Season: Peter Kelly. The Greystones GP had a fantastic season in midfield, combining athleticism with an uncanny ability to read the game to have an impact at both ends of the pitch.

Young Player of the Season: Fionn Nally. The St Vincent’s Hospital intern posed a constant threat to opposing defences, blending pace, trickery and intelligent link-play to score eight goals and assist countless others.

Top Goal-scorer: Aidan McGrath. The Kildare town GP registrar had a season to remember, scoring 21 goals in 20 games, and taking over as the club’s record goal-scorer from Ronan Murray. Aidan will look to continue his amazing form in front of goal as he captains the Irish team in the upcoming World Medical Football Championships.

We are delighted with the season and would like to thank our sponsors for all the support: Progressive Financial Services; Kiely’s of Donnybrook; Medical Protection Society; Doyle Interior Systems; and St. Vincent’s Hospital consultant benefactors.
