RCSI has developed a business continuity plan for the potential circumstances of increased absenteeism and/or campus closure for a period.
The plan aims to ensure it can continue providing for students’ educational requirements in such circumstances, said a College spokesperson, responding to queries on its response to the Covid-19 international public health emergency.
“The health and safety of our students, trainees, staff, visitors and the wider public is of paramount importance to RCSI,” its spokesperson informed the Medical Independent.
The College has convened a working group to ensure it is responding appropriately to Covid-19.
The group is “closely monitoring” advice from the HSE, the World Health Organisation and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. It is also being advised by RCSI experts in infectious diseases.
“We continue to carry out our normal day-to-day functions, while following the guidance of the HSE.”
Following advice to all education institutions in Bahrain, RCSI Bahrain is closed for a two-week period. “We continue to support our students there through web-based technologies,” stated the spokesperson.
