Irish Doctors Choir support MSF Covid-19 Crisis Fund

By Mindo - 19th Oct 2020

On Sunday 29 of November at 7.30 pm, the Irish Doctors Choir will live-stream their autumn concert to raise money for MSF Covid-19 Crisis Fund.

During the pandemic lockdown, the Irish Doctors Choir have joined together online from their own homes all across Ireland and beyond, while many of them continued to work in their health services.

The choir formed an invaluable support to members during this difficult time, keeping them connected and bringing cultural relief.

They will perform the  Kyrie based on the famous and serenely beautiful Adagio of the Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven, the uplifting O Clap Your Hands by Orlando Gibbons and the deeply moving last 3 movements of  the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré (Agnus DeiLibera Me and In Paradisum).  The event will feature an Introduction by Musical Director, Brian Mackay, Videos of MSF’s work and interviews with MSF medics and choir members.

The choir are delighted to be able to donate the proceeds of this performance to MSF Covid-19 Crisis Fund. This fund aims to raise urgently needed money for Médecins Sans Frontière’s emergency response to the new coronavirus pandemic and its consequences.

Tickets can be purchased and Donations made through Eventbrite

A short trailer featuring Brian Mackay and piano rendition by choir pianist, Gareth Lewis is available for viewing on YouTube HERE
