A new “online hub” for medical consultant positions will “highlight the benefits of working in Ireland and make the application process as straightforward as possible”.
The hub is for roles recruited by publicjobs.ie and has been launched in partnership with the HSE.
Ms Anne Marie Hoey, HSE National Director for Human Resources, said, “With demand for medical staff soaring across the developed world, recruitment and retention remain key priorities to enable us to continue to deliver the best care for our patients and service users.”
Twelve area specialities will be recruited on the hub including surgery, psychiatry, paediatrics, anaesthesiology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, general internal medicine, pathology, radiology, public health, orthodontics, and ophthalmology.
“We are operating in a competitive global recruitment market,” said Ms Hoey, “and it is vital that we can both retain our medical students in the Irish health service and attract graduates from overseas. The aim of the new medical consultant hub is to highlight the benefits of working in Ireland and make the application process as straightforward as possible.”
Ms Margaret McCabe, Interim Chief Executive Officer, publicjobs.ie, added, “At publicjobs.ie, we are pleased to support the HSE in their recruitment of medical consultants in Ireland.”
“As the centralised provider of recruitment, assessment, and selection services across the civil and public service we are committed to providing an open and transparent recruitment process to identify top-quality candidates for these roles.”
